Semco Group, an Australian-owned national distributor in the construction and earthmoving sector, has announced a pivotal leadership transition. After more than 30 years at the helm, co-founders Peter Esse and Graham Murphy have stepped down from daily operations.

In a seamless succession, long-standing Chief Operating Officer Steve Zivkovich has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 July 2025. This transition symbolizes continuity and renewal, positioning Semco for the next era of excellence.

A Leader with Deep Roots

Incoming CEO Steve Zivkovich is no stranger to Semco. With over 30 years of service and operational expertise, he has been one of the driving forces behind the company’s sustained growth and outstanding performance.

“It is an incredible honour to be entrusted with this role,” said Zivkovich. “Peter, Graham, and Satch built more than a company—they built a culture of care, trust, and resilience. I am committed to carrying that legacy forward with integrity and ambition.”

The transition comes with deep appreciation for the leaders who shaped the company, including the late Satch Santilli—a visionary founder and longtime CEO whose passion left a lasting imprint on the industry.
